This study aimed at identifying the trends of faculty members at the College of
Education at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University towards the
implementation of elementary female teacher program. A descriptive survey method
was utilized. The study sample consisted of (63) faculty members, and was conducted
during the second semester of the academic year 1438/ 2017. Results revealed that the
program of the primary grade teacher corresponds to a neutral degree, where the
average of the axis was (3.29). There were two important advantages of the program :
the content of the preparation in the program would achieve growth in aspects of field
experience and educational aspects in general. There were also three negative points for
the current program: It failed to graduate primary teachers with high efficiency, the
insufficiency of content preparation of the program in terms of the specialized academic
aspects of the teacher, the difficulty of maintaining the educational philosophy of the
program during its adaptation to the predominant education system at the current
elementary schools. The study sample agreed to the justifications that lead to
implementing a specialized program for elementary grades. The mean score of this axis
was (4.17). One of the most important reasons for the need to implement a specialized
program to prepare teachers of the primary grades was the special developmental nature
of the primary grades, as well as the approval of the necessary procedures proposed to
achieve the program for its objectives. The general mean of this axis was (4,45) ;
including the need to construct a new program to prepare the primary grade teacher by
local teams, making the current program one of the sources for development.
